The reason I use the word "hyped" is simply b'coz I feel the very concept of "Valentine's Day" has become a marketing tool in hands of businessmen to market their products which practically makes this occasion very much artificial and materialistic.
A good number of teens and youths make extravagant expenses just to display their profile which spoils the mood of the ocassion. I'm not at all against celebration of this event.. but I somehow feel that Valentine's Day shouldn't be the occasion to show off one's stature.
There's something interesting that I would love to discuss in this context. I've found some controversies exist about the subject "Love At First Sight". Personally, I don't believe this. It is b'coz I feel, love is not about getting mesmerized by beauty of a person. It is all about understanding a person, admiring his qualities, accepting his faults, and above all respecting him. And this grows only with time. ..The more time you spend with a person, the better you get to know him.
But there's something that invades in this strong notion of mine. Well, it was just day before yesterday when my cousin had come over to my place and told me 'bout the existence of three layers of mind.
1. Conscious mind
2. Sub-conscious mind
3. Unconscious Mind
Conscious mind thinks about what we are aware of. Unconscious mind dwells in dreamland. ...it takes charge of our thought process when we dream.. and deep down below exists the Unconscious mind. It thinks about things that we don't realize. Frankly speaking, I didn't get this ; if I'm not exactly thinking what my unconscious mind is thinking.. who is thinking!!!!
But if this assumption is taken to be true, it is said that every incident taking place around us is the product of my thought process in my unconscious mind. In that way, we fall in love with a person, because our unconscious mind had once thought about doing so..
Who is this unconscious mind? God?
Does this go back to the adage that "God exists in human beings and he is the one who decides everything that is to take place in our life, including love?"
Well, all this is very confusing... But it is something I found really interesting..
Anyways, enough of it.. I wouldn't like to spoil the mood of this day with more philosophy :)
Just go ahead and enjoy this special day with your loved ones....Cheers!
