Abondoned Platforms

A few days back, I caught a glimpse of the critically acclaimed movie of Amir Khan, "Taare Zameen Par". It was like I was spinning back against time. I couldn't but wonder about the caliber of Amir Khan. He simply has an eye for details.

The excellent narration of the story coupled with its portrayal as a commonplace incident simply makes it a class apart. It is a story everyone can relate to. Humiliation of teachers, the ignorance of Ishan's parents to his problems, the attitude of his father in being self satisfied to have met his son's requirements simply reflect a very harsh but real picture of our society. Not every child suffers from dyslexia, but most of them have their own problems that they are unable to put into words. And their pleas remain unheard.. only to get washed out in tears as they grow up. And this cycle continues. As a person gets older, he wants to be perfect in his eyes, as well as in the eyes of society (the society teaches him to be so...) and becomes reluctant to accept his own faults in his behavior to his child and it continues.....

"Taare Zameen Par" deals with this delicate subject and passes out with flying colors. Without doubt the movie is a benchmark in the genre of Indian Cinemas. I would give 10 out of 10..
